Locomotive Gallery Weathered: 1 I like to let my models be weathered by a master to give them a more realistic look. Years ago I was usually just happy if the trains made it around the layout with out derailing. Now my modeling style and emphasis has changed. I no longer want the toy look of a new piece of rolling stock with shiny wheels and plastic touch. From everything I see railroads and their equipment are inherently dirty. They are outside and subject to the ever changing weather. The loads that they haul are messy. Since the equipment is out there making money it may not always get a bath the way people think it should. Photos by Jürg Rüedi and Tom Mann Tom Mann's Weathering Factory |
